Short answer: SHAMISO is a UK-made scalp and hair oil for dry scalp, dry ends and dull hair. It contains shea butter, coconut oil and avocado oil, with no parabens, no sulfates and no silicones. Use it before washing as a treatment, or in small amounts on dry hair to add shine.

Quick answers

What does it do?

It moisturises the scalp and coats the hair shaft, which helps hair feel softer, look shinier and tangle less.

Who is it for?

Dry scalps, coily, curly, wavy and straight hair, protective styles, locs, and hair that is dry from colour or heat.

How often?

Once or twice a week as a treatment, plus a few drops as needed on dry hair. A little goes a long way.

Three oils. No filler.

Every ingredient in the bottle has a job. There is no mineral oil, no silicone and no artificial fragrance.

🧈

Shea butter

Rich in vitamins A and E, it moisturises deeply and helps restore softness and elasticity to dry, tight scalps and brittle ends.

🥥

Coconut oil

Lauric acid helps the oil penetrate the hair shaft, which supports strength and reduces the feeling of roughness along the strand.

🥑

Avocado oil

Light but rich in fatty acids and vitamin E, it softens dry hair without leaving a heavy film, so it works on finer textures too.

How to use it

1. Warm a small amount

Take a teaspoon into your palms for a scalp treatment, or three to five drops to finish a style. Warm it between your hands first.

2. Work it in

Massage into the scalp with your fingertips, then smooth the remainder down the length and through the ends.

3. Leave it, then wash

For a treatment, leave it on for 30 minutes or overnight under a cap, then shampoo out. For shine, leave it in.

Common questions

Is SHAMISO suitable for 4C hair?

Yes. Coily and tightly coiled hair usually benefits most from a heavier oiling routine, so SHAMISO works well as a pre-wash treatment and for sealing in moisture on twists, braids and locs.

Will it make my hair greasy?

Not if you use it sparingly. Start with three to five drops on dry hair, or a teaspoon for a scalp treatment, and build up. Fine hair needs less than thick, coily hair.

Can I leave it in overnight?

Yes. Many people oil the scalp, cover with a cap or silk scarf and wash it out the next morning. Use an old pillowcase, since oil marks fabric.

Does it contain silicones or sulfates?

No. It contains no parabens, no sulfates, no silicones and no mineral oil.
