Made in the UK, in small batches, with three oils
SHAMISO began with a simple frustration: hair oils that promise everything and list mineral oil first. We wanted a bottle where every ingredient earns its place.
The name
Shamiso is a Shona name. The brand carries the warmth of that heritage: hair care that starts at home, with oil on the scalp, worked in by hand, the way it has been done for generations.
Why only three oils
Because more is not better. Shea holds moisture in. Coconut carries oil into the strand. Avocado keeps the finish light enough to wear. Add a fourth oil and you mostly add marketing. We would rather do three properly than twelve badly.
How we make it
Small batches, blended in the UK, with raw shea butter and cold-pressed oils. Small batches mean less oil sitting in a warehouse, and it means we can change the formula if customers tell us something is not working. It also means we occasionally sell out, which we would rather do than pretend a backorder is not a backorder.
What we will not do
- We will not claim a cosmetic oil cures a medical condition.
- We will not put silicone in the bottle so hair looks shiny in a photo.
- We will not fake reviews or paste stock photos of people who never used it.
- We will not sell outside the UK until we can do it properly.
